01

What a dashcam adds to a company vehicle

After a collision it is often one driver's word against the other's. Dashcam footage gives you video evidence for your insurer or the police straight away.

With every recording, the dashcam also logs location, speed and route via GPS. You can view recordings in the app, which connects to the dashcam over Wi-Fi, or by putting the SD card in a computer.

02

Parking surveillance on a permanent power supply

Damage also happens while a vehicle is parked, for example on a building site or at a customer's premises. For parking surveillance, the dashcam is wired permanently into the vehicle's power supply.

In parking mode the dashcam only records when it detects an impact or movement, so the battery does not drain. While driving it records continuously and automatically overwrites the oldest footage.

03

A clean fit with no loose cables

Carro Automotive routes all cables behind the interior trim. There are no loose wires or suction cups in sight, and the vehicle's original system stays intact.

You can choose a standalone dashcam behind the rear-view mirror or an integrated dashcam. The integrated option replaces the original mirror or is built into the existing housing, so it blends in.

04

Front and rear cameras

A front camera records the road ahead. Adding a rear camera gives you footage of rear-end collisions and incidents while parking.

The rear camera is mounted discreetly at the rear window. A standalone front camera takes about 1 hour to fit; a front and rear set or an integrated dashcam takes 2 to 3 hours.

05

Agreements with employees

Using a dashcam is permitted in the Netherlands. The footage can, however, contain personal data, for example of your employees and other road users.

Decide in advance when you will review footage and what you will use it for, and inform your employees. Our knowledge base article on dashcams in company vehicles explains what to look out for.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

Is a dashcam allowed in a company vehicle?

Yes. Using a dashcam is permitted in the Netherlands, and the footage can serve as evidence after an incident. Because footage can contain personal data, it is sensible to agree on its use with your employees in advance.

How long does fitting take per vehicle?

On average 1 to 3 hours. A standalone front camera takes about 1 hour; a front and rear set or an integrated dashcam takes 2 to 3 hours.

Does parking surveillance drain the battery?

As a rule, no. In parking mode the dashcam only records when it detects an impact or movement, so the battery does not drain. For this, the dashcam is wired permanently into the vehicle's power supply. If a vehicle is parked for long periods, agree the settings in advance.

What is the difference between a standalone and an integrated dashcam?

A standalone dashcam is a compact camera behind the rear-view mirror. An integrated dashcam replaces the original mirror or is built into the existing housing, so it blends in. In both cases the cables are concealed.

How do I view the footage?

Through the app on your phone, which connects to the dashcam over Wi-Fi. You can also put the dashcam's SD card in a computer.

What does a dashcam cost per company vehicle?

On request. The price depends on the type of dashcam and the set-up. You receive a tailored quote, and volume pricing is available on request for larger numbers.
